What happened?

Webull is currently offering a promotion which allows you earn 5 shares worth up to US$500 when you sign up for a new account and fund any amount.

The promo which started in February has been extended till on 31st March 2023 3.59pm Singapore Time, so read on to find out below how you can qualify for this promo. 

How to earn 5 free shares with Webull March promo

To qualify for this promotion, you will need to take the following steps:

• Register for a Webull account with this link.
• Deposit any amount (S$1 also can) and you will get 3 free shares worth between US$30-US$300
• Maintain your funds for 30 days and you will get 2 free shares worth between US$20-US$200. 

Each free share is a fractional share of either Tesla (TSLA), Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN) or Alphabet (GOOG) worth between US$10 to US$100 each. 

Hence, you can earn between US$50-500 worth of fractional shares when you deposit even just S$1 and keep the funds for 30 days.

Step-by-step guide to Webull promo

Step 1: Register for a new Webull account

After clicking “Get Free Shares Now” you will be directed to registration page.

Here are what you'll need to do next

• Key in your phone number
• Select “Send Code” and you will receive a code via SMS
• Key in the code sent to you
• Read and agree to the Terms & Conditions & Privacy Policy

Step 2: Set up your new Webull account

Next, you can set up your account after successfully registering for a new account. 

• Download Webull App from the link provided

• Login using your mobile number and select “Open Account” 

• Fill in your personal particulars. You may select to link your Singpass account.

After submitting your details, you will have to wait for approval for your account to be set up. 

Step 3: Make a deposit of at least S$0.01

After your account is approved, it’s time to make a deposit. Inside Webull app, select “Webull” tab at the center bottom of the screen.

There are a few ways to make deposit: eDDA, Fast or Telegraphic Transfer. 

Webull recommends the eDDA Deposit method, where you will authorise Webull to transfer money from your bank account into your Webull account. To use this method, you can select the “eDDA Deposit” option, login to your internet banking, and set the transfer limit. 

If you'd prefer to manually transfer funds from your bank account, then you can use the FAST method. However, do note that this option is applicable only for SGD deposits, and you'll need to remember to notify Webull that the transfer has been completed. 

To qualify for the promo, the initial minimum deposit is SGD0.01. Yes that's right. It's 1 cent. 

After you're done with your transfer and the funding has been verified, you will be awarded the fractional shares as a welcome reward.  

Review of Webull - Is it safe and legit?

For those of you who are already familiar with moomoo and Tiger, Webull is another low-cost brokerage that allows you to buy and sell stocks. 

Here’s an interesting fact - Webull was the second most downloaded app among pure-play brokerages in the U.S. in 2021, according to App Annie.
