Beansprout Pro Portfolio Review (Oct 2026): How profit-taking helped protect our portfolio during the market correction

Beansprout Pro in Brief

• October was a difficult month. Our Model Portfolio declined 7.42%, compared with the STI's 5.27% fall, but remains up 0.54% since inception, outperforming the STI by 2.71 percentage points.
• The correction affected nearly all our holdings. Singapore banks accounted for approximately 3.2 percentage points of October's losses, while Hong Leong Asia, Keppel and CSE Global also weighed on returns.
• Profit-taking helped limit further losses. Our exits from PC Partner and Pan-United on 14 October avoided an estimated S$1,488 in subsequent losses, equivalent to approximately 1.5% of the initial portfolio value.
• Dividends supported cumulative returns. Dividend income contributed 1.48 percentage points since inception, offsetting negative share-price returns.
• We are maintaining approximately 21% cash. We remain constructive on equities but are placing greater emphasis on earnings resilience, valuations and managing potential drawdowns.
