Review how the Beansprout Pro Model Portfolio performed in September 2026, what drove returns, and how we are thinking about each position as part of the overall portfolio.
Beansprout Pro in Brief
- The Beansprout Pro Model Portfolio gained 1.69% in September even as the STI fell 1.4%, taking its return since launch on 14 July to 8.6%.
- OCBC remains the portfolio’s largest contributor since inception, followed by PC Partner and DBS. But the source of new returns shifted meaningfully in September.
- PC Partner and Pan-United contributed 2.36 percentage points between them during the month, more than offsetting weakness in Hong Leong Asia and CICT.
- By comparison, OCBC and DBS contributed just 0.35 percentage points in September after driving a much larger share of the portfolio’s earlier gains.
- This broader contribution matters because it suggests the portfolio is becoming less dependent on the same holdings to generate returns.
- The key question is whether the underlying investment cases, valuations or risks have changed enough to justify rebalancing.
