Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) is the operator of Hong Kong's stock and derivatives markets and one of the world's leading exchange groups. The group operates the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and the London Metal Exchange. HKEX provides trading, clearing, and settlement services across cash equities, derivatives, fixed income and currency, and commodities. It hosts the Stock Connect and Bond Connect programmes that link Mainland China and Hong Kong markets to international investors. HKEX is regulated by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong. The exchange is itself listed on its own market and is a Hang Seng Index constituent. Its revenue is closely tied to market turnover, listing activity, and interest income on margin and clearing balances.
