The Group operates the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and the London Metal Exchange. Its core services include trading, clearing, and settlement across cash equities, derivatives, fixed income and currency, and commodities. HKEX hosts the Stock Connect and Bond Connect programmes linking Mainland China and Hong Kong markets to international investors. Revenue is closely tied to market turnover, listing activity, and interest income on margin and clearing balances. HKEX is itself listed on its own exchange and is a constituent of the Hang Seng Index. HKEX was established in 2000 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.
