Here's how the feature  works at a glance:

• Earn 3% p.a. on invested shares and ETFs - Earn 3% p.a. on your first S$50,000 invested in eligible shares and ETFs in IG Markets. The interest is paid out as cash.
• Paid monthly, no lock-in - Interest accrues daily and is paid out every month in SGD. You need to make at least one trade on the app each month to qualify.

Plus, new IG Markets customers can even earn an additional welcome reward of S$188 when you sign up, fund S$1,000 and hold for 30 days, and make 2 trades from 1 February to      28 February 2026. T&C apply.

What is IG Markets' 3% p.a. on shares and ETFs feature?

IG Markets’ interest on shares feature is straightforward: invest in global shares or ETFs with IG Markets, and earn 3% p.a on your holdings, capped at S$50,000 in value. 

Here’s how the feature works:

Interest on investments

The 3% p.a. interest is calculated based on the market value of your invested shares and ETFs, not cash balances.

No minimum investment

There’s no minimum investment required to start earning interest, though the interest is capped at S$50,000 in holdings. 

If you have more invested, the excess portion doesn't earn interest. 

Monthly trade requirement

You must execute at least one qualifying trade per calendar month to earn the interest for that month.

A qualifying trade means any buy or sell order for shares or ETFs on IG Markets. 

If you regularly invest or rebalance, this is easy to meet. Even a trade as small as S$1 on US fractional shares will satisfy the condition.

Calculated daily, paid up to S$125 monthly

Interest is calculated daily, based on your portfolio’s market value at 8pm SGT each day. 

On the first working day of each month, the accrued interest is credited to your account and shown as “Cash Interest – [Month]”. 

For example, if you maintain an average of S$50,000 in shares throughout February, around the first few days of March, you'll receive approximately S$125 in interest.

Once paid, the interest is yours to withdraw or reinvest freely, with no restrictions or lock-ins.

The maximum interest you can receive is S$125 per month.

No lock-in period

You're free to sell your holdings or withdraw funds anytime. 

Interest is calculated daily on what you hold, so if you sell mid-month, you simply stop accruing interest on those sold assets from that day onwards. 

There's no penalty for selling.

For investors who are already planning to stay invested in the market, this promotion adds additional yield on top of their existing investment strategy.

What investors should keep in mind 

Market risk still applies

This offer shouldn't be mistaken for a risk-free 3% return like a fixed deposit. 

You earn the interest by investing in stocks or ETFs, which means your capital is subject to market fluctuations. 

IG Markets's 3% p.a. feature may mitigate some downside, but not all. 

So consider your investment objectives, risk appetite, and time horizon when investing in the market. 

Is the 3% p.a. rate permanent?

IG Markets launched this 3% p.a. interest feature in late 2025 as an ongoing programme with no set end date at present.

However, IG Markets reserves the right to adjust it in the future depending on market conditions. They've committed to informing users in advance of any changes.

How to qualify for the IG Markets 3% p.a. on shares feature?

Step 1: Open an IG Markets share dealing account

Download the IG Markets app (it's mobile-only).

You can use MyInfo or Singpass for faster verification. 

If you're an existing IG CFD customer, the share dealing account is separate, so you still qualify as a new IG Markets user.

Step 2: Fund your account

Transfer funds into your IG Markets account via PayNow, bank transfer, or debit card. You can fund from as little as S$1.
