8 Chinese New Year promotions to leap into prosperity

Chinese New Year is a season many of us look forward to. 

Reunions, good food, and of course, red packets.

It is also when I see a lot of promotions going on for us to earn an extra ang pow for our wallets.

In this article, we round up eight Chinese New Year promotions from OCBC, UOB, CIMB, Moomoo, Longbridge, IG Markets, CMC and Endowus, and what each promo really offers.

#1 - UOB Leap of Fortune Savings Promotion

UOB is running a Leap of Fortune Savings Promotion where you can earn up to S$380 guaranteed cash when you top up your eligible UOB savings account. 

• Top up S$20,000 new funds to get S$38 cash credit

• Top up S$50,000 new funds to get S$120 cash credit

• Top up S$100,000 new funds to get S$250 cash credit

• Top up S$150,000 new funds to get S$380 cash credit

Eligible UOB savings accounts include the UOB One Account, UOB Stash Account, UOB Lady's Savings Account, UOB Passbook Savings Account, and UOB Uniplus Account. 

One thing you should note of is that your fresh deposits will be earmarked for about 7 months.

On top of the promotion, you will be automatically enrolled in a lucky draw with 22 prizes up for grabs. If you’re eligible for the cash credit, you’re already in the running!

The more you deposit, the higher your odds. Your chances are calculated based on your participating deposit amount:

• S$20,000 deposit: 1 lucky draw chance

• S$50,000 deposit: 3 lucky draw chance

• S$100,000 deposit: 6 lucky draw chances

• S$150,000 deposit: 9 lucky draw chances

#2 - OCBC Chinese New Year Deposit Promotion

From 1 January to 31 March 2026, open a OCBC 360 Account and credit your salary of at least S$1,800 via GIRO/FAST/PayNow to receive an S$80 cash reward.

As OCBC’s flagship savings account, the OCBC 360 Account lets you earn higher interest on your deposits when you carry out everyday banking activities such as crediting your salary, saving, and spending.

It allows you to earn up to 2.45% p.a. effective interest on the first S$100,000 when you credit your salary, save, and spend.

Those who also insure or invest with OCBC can boost their rate to a maximum 5.45% p.a., though these categories require purchasing eligible financial products.

OCBC is also running a Chinese New Year deposit promotion on their Statement Savings Account. 

You can earn a promotional yield of up to 1.60% p.a. on fresh funds of S$50,000 up to S$3,000,000 maintained for 88 days. 

You'll have to register for the promotion after depositing fresh funds to the eligible OCBC Statement Savings Account in order to get the bonus interest.

#3 - CIMB New Customer Chinese New Year Promotion

From 1 January to 28 February 2026, new customers of CIMB who apply for a savings or current account can get up to S$500 eCapitaVouchers. 

To be eligible to participate, enter promo code “CNY” in the online application form/

• Top up S$10,000 to get S$30 eCapitaVouchers
• Top up S$25,000 to get S$100 eCapitaVouchers
